Losing the weight the fastest doesn’t seem like a sensible goal - there are lots of ways to rapidly lose weight (not just fat) but they may not be a healthy or sustainable approach. Shouldn’t the goal be to lose weight while developing healthy habits that enable you to maintain that loss forever?
With 20 lbs to lose, you can reasonably expect that to take 30-40 weeks but if you take a sensible approach, it may be the last time you ever have to worry about losing the weight.
Good luck.27 -
that is true.....you can still challenge each other by saying lets compete...doesnt actually mean it is a competition..I noticed when you tell yourself its ok to loose 4 pounds in 6 months many get discouraged, including myself. The initial start can be a bit more extreme to boost your motivation:)))while still doing it the healthy way10

I know a lot of people do enjoy competition and it works for them. But for me I don't have a competitive bone in my body when it comes to physical challenges. You may find some takers in the Challenge Group.
I do like an intellectual challenge though. So collecting data about my weight loss and analysing it and working out how to consistently lose weight but still eat what I like. How foods effect my weight loss and cause fluctuations. How my weight is trending from the data points entered from my device etc. All that nerdy stuff keeps me motivated and determined.
My husband on the other hand would race his own shadow and probably beat it5 -
I'm looking to lose 20 pounds! Add me if youd like!!!2

I’m looking to loose 30 but I’m totally down for a 20lb challenge!!0

I've cut about 20lb in about 2 days in the past.
What do I win?4 -

Really? Obviously you could loose more weight and win the challenge if you're stupid/irresponsible which you must of been if you really did loose that kind of weight in 2 days....I'm assuming the OP is out to see who can do this in a healthy manner vs. who can puke up the most food or starve themselves to loose 20lbs....
I'm here because I would like loose the 20lbs and I like some healthy competition....not here to starve just so I can be the "winner"....for me that probably means a few months of dedication and strict eating....I just wanna stay accountable the whole way through....nothing wrong with that right?2 -
That's my point. Competing to see who can lose weight the fastest is far from sensible.5
-
yes exactly the healthy way, and that is the only way I am planning on pursuing this challenge:))
i think 100 days fro 20 pounds is possible only if we all stick to a very strict diet (MFP suggested calories). and as much gym work as possible . Every one of us will have slightly different results obviously...but thats the great and interesting part- to see how it goes for us individually...word "competition" just adds extra motivation hehe...at least to me...and setting a big goal is also good because if in 100 days I will only loose 15 pounds I will be ecstatic and super happy:))) or even 10...but thinking you could possibly loose 20 just makes you motivated I think:))1 -
today I had a great day:)) ate really healthy and did the gym..I want all of these 100 days to be like this....will have some great results I am sure!!!1

Best of luck to all!! Cyber cookie to who ever gets there first ^_^1

Count me in. How does this work?0

well I personally thought 100 days would be a good amount of time for loosing about 22-22 pounds. so I guess we come back here as often as we want and update each other on progress?:)) I personally chose not to check my weight until 100 days is over lol0
-
I bookmarked this thread so I'll be back....now all I gotta do is work up the courage to take a current progress pic....(profile pic is one year and 30 LBs ago0

Wow I don’t think I could manage 100 days without weighing myself. Good luck with that I usually do weekly weigh ins otherwise I lose motivation.
49 days till my birthday, fingers crossed for 7-10 pound weight loss by then.

Let's do this 💪0

How’s everyone going this week? Any weight loss progress?0

I lost a pound this week. Meh, I'm not expecting much next week due to my sprained knee. We shall see!0

I’m a little late but I’ll definitely join the competition! ((:0

Ouch, sorry about your knee. Take it easy.
I’ve hit week 2 so every thing has slowed now. That first week with water weight loss is always the most fulfilling before the hard slog begins.

awwww...you all doing great!!! I joined a challenge on the community which is to loose 5 pounds by the end of February:)))...we will see what happens...so far I have actually gained a bit back from that 4 pound loss I achieved:(((0

I'm a bit late in joining but I'm in!
I bookmarked this so I will come back occasionally to read everyone's comments and report my own progress! ( hopefully progress!)
I think doing things like this is good motivation to help stick to making healthier decisions and to reach our goals! Good luck to us all!! Xoxo!0 -
