Can someone please explain the Woo reaction?

What does it mean? Is someone making fun of you or are they actually excited by what you said?

With that said ^^ don't give it too much creedence unless there are a lot of woos on one post. A couple or three could be user error or not knowing the Community meaning. A bunch of them mean something is not quite right on the post.
But don't get your feelings hurt. It's really not an important thing. It does lead to funny discussions, though.9 -

I thought woo was like a Ric Flair “WooOO!!!”
Guess not4 -
It’s a way to help people be confused.
It could mean “yay great” or it could mean “what a bunch of woo-bs”. And there’s no way to know if someone is woo-ing a post for one or the other.
There’s also no way to know what specifically prompted a woo vote. The post could be a 17,000 word essay of quality info and then it uses the word “toning” and BOOM-157 woos. Or it could be the entire post is nonsense from start to finish. Or it could be woo’d because the poster is acting like a sanctimonious *kitten*. Or it could be people are cheering. Or it could be someone didn’t understand the post/post was unclear and was interpreted to mean something it didn’t. Or it could be someone was scrolling on their phone and accidentally hit the woo as they went by. Or someone doesn’t like the poster and wants to keep the high school spirit alive by “wooing” every post they make.
Nobody knows.
If you see a whole bunch of woos-it usually means the post either asks about or contains information that is generally incorrect. But you’ll never know what exactly promoted the woos unless there are comments/responses (which there usually are).7 -
Anything less than 2 or 3 'Woo' can be ignored.
It can be people miss-clicking or not quite understanding the reaction's purpose. It's also used by some people in a petty manner. I know I have at lest one Woo Stalker who will automatically Woo any post I make regardless of what it is. More than likely just someone that I've called out for posting misinformation or had a disagreement with and that's their childish way of getting back at me. LOL!3 -

I'm just now realizing this thread actually posted. It disappeared after I submitted. Anyhoo, "open to interpretation" apparently is the reader's digest version. I must seem like a total goober Lol but I don't even understand the facial expression of the woo Emoji, its so ambiguous, so I had to ask. At any rate, I'll just keep swimming...3
