Loosing weight but eating as before

Hi !! I am new to fitnesspal previously lost weight by diet watch cutting all carbs. Being south asian carbs in the form of chappatis nans and parathas are a must in our diet. Pour in your suggestions as how to loose weight in such a case and weight drop should be long term.

Track your calories , portion control , weigh and measure food, it is easy to eat the wrong amount, exercise 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day.

Good luck! You have got this;-)

I am on 1200 calorie diet sometimes even eat less.

If you're actually eating that little, then you will be losing weight. May I suggest reading the sticky posts and make sure that you're track accurately. This thread may help:

May I ask your stats (age, gender, height, current weight), it might be that you can actually get away with a higher daily allowance and still lose weight. Unless you are older, completely sedentary and very short, it is very unlikely that 1200kcals is an appropriate target for you.

Also, are you using food scales? It's very easy to under estimate the amount that you're eating if you're eyeballing portions or using cups for solid food.

Personally I eat exactly the same way I used to when I was gaining weight (takeaways and all), I just eat less of it. The trick is to remember that you don't need to do anything special to lose weight. All you need to do is consistently maintain a calorie deficit. As long as you're tracking accurately and staying under your calorie goal then the weight will come off.

edit... I just saw your stats, calorie goal and exercise.

Keep the same eating pattern. Do not cut out foods you plan to eat after weight loss.

On 1200 calories, eat all 1200 calories and eat back any exercise calories you burn.

Especially chappatis, nans and parathas are very high in fat. If those were more similar to European breads they'd have a lot less calories. Thus just eating less of those might have caused a weight loss.

Okay, so your BMR is 1,380kcals a day. That means if you were in a coma you'd be burning that amount of calories. Now as you're not you're definitely not only eating 1200kcals (or less) if you're not losing weight. Are you logging everything? Do you use a food scale? Did you read that thread I linked to? Also at the moment you're only a little overweight, so your progress will be slow. I'd set your goals to be losing 0.5kg a week, and then when you reach around 57kg switch to 0.25kg a week. Expect to lose 1-2kg per month. Remember that this is a marathon not a sprint. Losing weight slowly is better than trying to lose it quickly and giving up because you're miserable/not making "fast enough" progress. All progress is good progress.

Another thing to point out is that your weight will fluctuate. Weight loss is certainly not linear and you cannot expect to see a dip in the scale every day. Some days it will be up, some days it will be down. If you find that you're focusing on individual weigh ins a little bit too much, then you might want to try a weight trending app such as Libra, Happy Scale or Trendweight which'll smooth out those bumps and means that you can see a general trend over time.

And yes, you can completely lose weight by continuing to eat in the same eating pattern as you're currently eating. You just have to consume less calories and you burn (this is the basis for all weight loss methods). Making lower calorie swaps and reducing portion sizes will reduce the amount of calories you're eating and mean you can continue to eat the food that you like to eat. You do not need to reduce carbs to lose weight.

Oh not really, i am actually not measuring by scale. I am pcod too but not diabetic though or have no sugar intolerance. May be my medical condition don’t lemme weigh less. I would start taking my measurements and will trust inches more than the weighing scale.

Not losing is more than likely due to not using a food scale. You really have no way if truly knowing how much you're eating without it. If you lost weight previously theres no reason it can't be done again.
