Marinade

How do you add a marinade into your tracker? Especially since you dump it once you go to cook your meat.

I would suggest weighing the marinade before and after using it to figure out much actually made it into the meat, and use that for logging. I would then use the recipe builder for meat plus X% of marinade.1

I use a bottled marinade that is 50 cals per 2 tbsps (25g grams). So I put my bag of meat on the scale, tare it. Then measure 25g of marinade. Put it in the frig. Take bag out and take out meat to cook. Put meatless bag on the scale. Tare the scale. Pour out marinade, put empty bag back on the scale and then I subtract 25g from whatever number is in the scale. That’s the +\- a couple grams of what’s going into the pan.
To be frank though, that’s a lot of work to save like 25 calories (for me) so I usually just say 50 cals and call it a day.1 -
Yeah everything just seemed more complicated. I was just doing a little olive oil lemon juice and a few seasonings. I think I’ll just use a 1/4 of the mixture and call it a day. Thanks.0
