Starting over after gaining weight back

Hi I am looking for tips on how to get re-motivated when feeling so deflated. I lost 40 lbs 1.5 years ago and now have gained 25 lbs of it back over the last 6 months. I am looking for motivation and tips for trying not to look back and just moving forward. I am trying to focus on little victories to gain momentum. Going to try to focus on losing 10 lbs.

I'm in the same boat! Back after losing, then regaining. It's hard to get motivated again. I'm thinking in 5 pound increments, and day to day. You did it once, you can do it again.1

Same here i was in maintenance mode (with still 25 lbs to go but i was trying to maintain for 6 months) and i gained 10 lbs over the holidays. So now i have around 35 to go and its slow moving. Its been almost 3 weeks since starting up again.1

I have been in that same position. I finally felt like I was getting on track long-term and then got pregnant and it all went out the window. I am finally really back to it now with about 60lbs left to lose. I try to just focus on 5lb increments and how my clothes feel.3

Repeating something that did not achieve long term lasting success is almost certain to result in another failure.
Try something new. I don't know what , because you each are different people, but, I can tell you that I found huge value in reading the sticky posts at the top of the Getting Started forum.
good luck.

What worked for me was to put together a set of progress photos... When I felt discouraged or whatever I could look at that and reflect on how far I've come and how much better I feel for it1

I agree that just losing the weight again might not be the only thing you need to do - figure out WHY you gained it back and how to realistically avoid that this time around. Check out the Most Helpful Posts threads pinned to the top of each forum - lots of great tips there. And hopefully something will spark the "a-ha!" moment for you where you figure out how to stay at that healthy weight once you get there. Good luck!2
