Why do you want to stop drinking it?
Is the "vegan" label important to you?

Is it a question?2

Why can't you stop drinking milk?
Have you tried substitute nut or soy milks?4 -
You mentioned in another thread that you're keto? So you're a keto vegan?4

A keto "vegan" who drinks lots of milk, and milk has carbs (around 11 g in a cup of full fat milk).4

Do the best you can. Being vegan is about doing better and having compassion for animals. If you still drink milk, try limiting it until you finally quite. I admire you for your efforts and your honesty. If you chose to refer to yourself vegan...go for it. Don’t let anyone discourage you. I would recommend that you try alternatives such as Coconut almond milk. Keep your chin up and doing what is right. If you slip...you are human. Keep up the good work. You are still saving animals in the long run and you are still making an impact on the environment. Small steps lead to huge leaps. I believe in you!5

While I also have great admiration for ethical vegans, I think the OP would be more accurate if using the term "mostly plant-based."4 -

I have concerns with people who are deliberately and consistently engaging in unnecessary animal exploitation calling themselves vegans because it sends the message that the animals impacted don't really matter.
That cows impacted by OP's behavior matter and are worthy objects of our moral concern isn't a side issue, it's the main point of veganism. They're not less worthy than other animals. While there are benefits to animals when people reduce their participation in animal exploitation, this isn't the same thing as veganism.
Noting that veganism is a consistent ideology that prompts specific behaviors and choices isn't discouraging to OP. I believe that OP is fully capable of choosing to avoid milk, I have confidence in their agency and ability to match their behavior to their ethics. I believe in OP's ability to choose veganism if it is a priority for them.8 -

As someone who is not a vegan I agree with you completely-the term vegan has a very specific meaning, and is different than other labels which can be a bit more 'loose' in their interpretation and still be applied appropriately. If someone is still using dairy products then they're not a vegan, period.

This seems too much like a drive-by thread. There are very few details and the subject matter can be hotly debated on some boards. I hope the OP proves me wrong and offers a better explanation of whether this is question of ethics or if veganism just seems like a good WL strategy or a hip thing to do. If it is the latter it would be better to stop using the term "vegan".3
