Are there any bakers out there? My daughter is turning 4 in two months and she has requested that I make her a Rapunzel b-day cake. I have no idea were to start. If you are a good baker and have some tips or some websites I can visit for help I would really appreciate it.

Take the easy wy out. Make a rectangle cake and use colored icing to draw on it. I made a cake with lady bugs for my 5 year old and she was ok with that. otherwise, there are always birthday cake books out there - you can make pretty much anything you want. Good luck.

Use an angel food cake pan and get a Rapunzel barbie doll and put in the center of the cake after decorating it to look like her dress.....

First draw out your design. think simple, and stable. square or round? then get creative.

You can totally do this! I have made about 4 3-D cakes for my kids in the past and it was so fun - and I am by no means an accomplished baker. Cake Central is good. But I love this website (and I did a search for Rapunzel and they have a bunch). The people who submit usually have a good description of how they did it. http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/best-cake-recipe.html

Running with the doll cake idea...Do you happen to have the large batter bowl from Pampered Chef or know somone who has one you can borrow? The bowl is oven proof up to 500 degrees and is the perfect size and shape for a skirt. Bake your cake in it, once it's cool, invert it onto a platter, stick a rapunzel doll in the top and then decorate the cake skirt.

if you want to make a tower for her, bake a rectangular 9 x 13 cake and use a circular cookie cutter to make small circles of cake. Then stack the circles to make a tower. For the top, use a sugar cone covered with frosting or cool whip and rolled in sprinkles!
