Hi everyone. I have been on MFP for one week now. My sister got me started on here and I love this site. I am following a low cal food plan (HCG) and eventually will start my exercise plan. i am interested in taking a holistic approach while on my path towards permanent weight loss. i know it will take emotional, psychological, AND physical changes. Just wanted to introduce myself and say i appreciate reading everyone's stories and seeing the progress. Would love to have some more friends for support!
Thanks!

Be careful with the HCG! Don't follow the 500-calorie daily food plan.. But other than that, welcome & good luck! :D

Good luck with you determination - I am sure everyone heartily supports your desire for a better life.
BTW, I am the red hat guy - that's my pretty-thin twin brother on the left. Regards - freddie

Good luck. I did a modified HCG diet with a nutritionist through a medical center. I did lose a bunch of weight 60 lbs in 5 months, but as soon as I stopped the shots the pounds piled right back on. I also had some pretty nasty side effects towards the end of it. For me, I'm seeing results following MFP guidelines and exercising regularly. No it's not as fast as it was with the HCG, but I feel confident that I'll keep the weight off since it's not chemically being helped along.

HCG is, Human chorionic gonadotropin, is a hormone that is produced during pregnancy. Although it is found in small amounts in both male and females. It is believed that it will increase weight loss in severely overweight people because it allows the body to burn stored fat while maintaining a low caloric intake.
  • everyone has their own path to weight loss. only i KNOW what works best for me. and it is working for me! to each his own.

I think you`ll find that HCG won`t work for long. At first, yes it always does work! But as soon as you stop... the weight comes flying back on. It may be worth it to read some reviews and testimonials from others on this site. You`ll find this community is (for the most part), strongly against HCG, diet pills, etc. A 500 calorie diet is starving yourself.... if youre doing this, you might want to consider adding a few more calories in. 500 is not sustainable. :ohwell:

We only want to see you succeed... hence the advice. Please don`t take it the wrong way.

Yeah I was considering the hcg route but there are more stories of gaining it back than anything. Bummed me out a bit but I seem to be doing ok with slow and steady. Do what works for you and stay healthy!
