Hi! Originally from Scotland, now living in Korea. Currently 172cm and 87kg (around 190lbs). Initial goal is to get down to 80kg and take it from there.

Was on this about a year ago and was making some progress but failed to regularly login and record stuff and then dropped out after a while, and it all came back and more.

How do you all decide which recorded entries work for your meals? I admit that I don't sit down and measure everything I eat - bad, I know. Also, eating in Korea generally involves eating from communal bowls - not from individual plates. Do you have any advice on what I should do when I check for foods and the pre-recorded entries have wide ranging calorific values? Go high? Go low? Aim for the median? Or is there no other option but to look out the scales and measuring spoons?

Anyway, good luck to you all.

Joe

The important hing is to be honest with yourself (not trying to preach--I speak from experience with my own devious mind!). So you will be approximating quantities/ingredients, but try to be realistic. And no deprivation!
  • Maybe measure out something like rice at home. For instance, put some bowls out and dump a cup in one, a half cup in another, quarter cup in another, a tablespoon in another, etc. And then you'll have a rough idea to take with you when you eat out of what a cup of something looks like.
  • Thanks! All good advice. Yes, my "devious mind" doesn't seem to gauge volume/weight well, either!
