Hello, - I’m Maria, a 30 year old Yorkshire girl who’s struggled with her weight all of her life -

I’ve already lost a little weight this year but I’m not focusing on my health and weight loss more seriously, I’m training for the coast to coast walk in spring -

Please say hi and let’s encourage each other to our goals

Hi! I'm also a hiker; less a wilderness hiker, now, and more a B&B-->B&B hiker ☺

I'm training for the Skye trail (and an off-road marathon) and the Coast-to-Coast sounds a good one - are you doing it in one hit?

My plan for training is -

    strength training
getting out as much off-road as possible to strengthen my legs and feet
    long days out walking
    walking with progressively heavier packs
    walking with poles
testing different kit to learn what I want to take - for example trail shoes rather than heavy boots

You're in a good area to get some quality walking/practice hikes in!!!

Hi Maria, I'm in Yorkshire too and I also enjoy hiking. I like the idea of challenge and yours sounds great. If you ever fancy joining me and my mates for a hike just add me and drop me a message.

Fellow Northerner here, living over the Irish Sea now, I don't get out hiking as much as I'd like to but do enjoy it, however, I am a keen rower and will be starting to train for my next long distance race this weekend. Feel free to add me.

In Norway and people here all hike. .. . . .whether there is a sheet of ice or not. Does everybody wear slip on ice picks for their feet? Ha ha ha! :D I try to hike too. Feel free to add me!
