How to lose 3lbs in one week

Now I know that it isn't possible to lose more than a few lbs of actual fat a week but I set myself a goal 2 weeks ago that I wanted to lose 7lbs in 3 weeks (before my annual holiday/vacation). So far I have lost 4lbs in 2 weeks which I am very happy with which leaves me with 3lbs to go before I hit my target. I have 8 days to do it.
Firstly, is this possible? Is it a realistic target? And secondly, what tips could you give to help me achieve this? I still have a considerable amount of weight to lose (33lbs) and it's been coming off so slowly (12lbs lost in 5 months) so I just wanted to push up the intensity of my efforts and see some results before I have to put on a bikini!!!!! I currently spin 3 times a week and I am on day 7 of Jillians 30 Day Shred, I can already see a little more muscle definition already. I drink 8 glasses of water a day.
Any tips I would be soooo grateful xxx

I have been on MFP since jan. 2011. Through my own experience I lost 2-3 lbs a week when I burned 3500 calories a week. I completed the 30 ds and while I lost some weight, I lost over 20 inches! Have you been taking measurements? I found that losing inches rather than pounds keeps me motivated. Plus clothes that fit me at a smaller weight areloose on me now. Muscle weighs more than fat.
Good luck and I hope you make your goal!!!0 -

Hi yes, I have done my measurements and have noticed a difference in a week. Maybe I shouldn't be so fixated on the scale but it's a habit I can't seem to get out of. Many thanks, going to try increasing my exercise.0 -
If this is your firs week, yes. The first couple of weeks we get rid of our water wieght. Also our body does not know we are on a diet yet and our metabolism is still ready for lots of calories. Do not go under 1200 calories but once in a while or your metabolism will slow down, then it is harder to loose. It is better to yo yo your calories and burned calories. Keep your body guessing.
Good Luck0 -
losing more than 2 pounds a weeks is not recommended. its not good for your health, in addition it can backfire too and you may gain a couple of pounds instead of losing one additional pound0

Naomi don't get caught up in the numbers game. If you don't lose another pound before your vacation you'll still look amazing a bikini. You're doing a fantastic job! Keep working out until it's time to go and have a great time!!

I would say burn burn burn and very low carbs. You can do it just dont do it every week0
