But I did set MFP to lose 1lb a week and that just what it's done. Maybe I thought at least a few more with it being my 1st week. Just tweaked it to lose 1.5 but don't think I can cut my cals that low, I am pretty active looking after 2 horses and a 12-year-old. Any ideas how to get my head into this, I've just moved over from WW.

When I get impatient, my husband reminds me how long it look for me to put on the weight. For me, (I am on my spring cycle of losing the 10ish pounds I put on since last summer) what took me months to gain won’t disappear in a few weeks - not in a way that is healthy anyway. Many people gain their extra weight over years - it won’t disappear by snapping your fingers.

Plus I hate feeling deprived. I just need to figure out the maintenance thing so I don’t forever have to lose the same ten pounds over and over.

And one pound in a week is great - you don’t seem to have that much to lose!

If you feel like your calories are already too low, maybe you've set your Activity Level too low. You didn't choose Sedentary did you? With a 12 year old and a horse to care for, you are at the very least Moderately Active, maybe even into the Active category. On this site you set your daily calories by your daily regular activity.

This really needs to be stickied! :D

OP, great advice in here already - kick back, do the deal, enjoy the ride and the results. :)
