STRONG CURVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I finally decided to purchase the book since I know for sure Bret Contreras knows his *kitten* and is knowledgeable, are they any tips I should know before I start? The book hasn't arrived yet, but I know for sure since I am currently an Apple Shaped right now I want to loose weight while at least keeping the muscle I have right now to lose and maintain a curvier shape. What I am a little bit worried about is my upper body fat, since it is where I carry most of my fat, especially my stomach, back fat and arms, has anyone noticed a good amount of difference in their upper body following the program? I know I cannot spot reduce which sucks, but I want to look as leaner as I can from my upper body which will require me losing 50-60 lbs.

I just want to look for feedback on the book, I will be reading it when it arrives.
Thanks for the concern4 -
It's difficult to give any advice other than to just read the book and follow the program when you've already asked dozens of questions, received the same answers over and over again, yet continue to ask more...
Fat will come off where it wants. Everybody is built differently. Follow the program and eat at a deficit. None of us can tell you what exactly you'll end up looking like.7 -
You kinda answered your own question: you will need to lose 50-60 pounds to be lean. You will see improvement by following almost any program.2

I followed Strong Curves while I lost 70 pounds. It helped me maintain the muscle I had while losing weight. There was no significant muscle growth but it did help me maintain muscle everywhere while I lost fat. That's what a structured lifting program will do for you while you lose weight. You won't see any significant muscle growth in a deficit.
Once I lost the weight, THEN I could better assess my goals and pick a program that would meet them while doing recomposition. Strong Curves does not focus on upper body enough for me, so I don't currently follow it now that my goal is muscle growth. It was perfectly adequate while I lost weight, though.3 -

Okay thanks! I thought since my goal is to get a little muscle or at least maintain my muscle right now and lose from my upper, even if I can’t spot reduce maybe there’s a program that helps with maintain muscle all over.4 -

That would be the program you follow consistently for an extended period of time rather than the program you talk about.
With 50-60lbs to lose worrying about where it's going to come from most is totally pointless, you don't know what you will look like and no-one else can tell you either.
