How are your New Year's plans working out for you? Have you discovered anything new that is working out for you so far? :)

Congrats on the weight-loss! What have you been doing diet/workout wise?

Hello! After an appointment with my doctor I’m going to try reducing the carbs that I eat. There’s a lot of conflicting info out there about which types of eating practices are most effective for weight loss, but hearing this from a pro has helped. In the past I’ve simply tracked calories but not given much thought to the types of calories I’ve been eating. I have about 30 lbs to lose and have a lot of trouble staying accountable for longer than a few weeks. Looking for friends and support! It’s great to read the stories here.

Still counting calories. A caloric deficit is the ONLY thing that leads to weight loss. Low carb, intermittent fasting, and any other WOE (way of eating) helps you lose weight only if they help you keep your calorie deficit.

@joelletamara , doctors, personal trainers, and nutritionists are notorious for giving advice like that. Reduce your carbs if it helps you keep your deficit. It works for some people, but a lot of us needs carbs to feel full, and we still lose weight with a deficit. <3
