I've been on here about 15 days so far and finding that the daily logging is really helping to keep me honest! I've tried a few calorie tracker type sites and this one is the best by far!

A little about me: I'm 37 years old and have Hashimoto's Disease. I've been dealing with this disease since I was 25, along with going through a plethora of doctors who didn't know what they heck they were doing. I've finally found a good endo, who stays current on new trends in treatments of the disease. When I first started going to her, the old doctor was severely under medicating me and I was growing a goiter. Within months of her raising my medication, my goiter went away and I was feeling better. That was about 2 years ago and at the begining of this year I decided it was time to try to take off some of this weight that I had gained in the last 12 years of dealing with an under-active thyroid now that my levels have stabilized. I've always had a good diet for the most part but because I was so tired all the time, I never could get off my butt to exercise.

I've already lost 20 lbs prior to joining here. It took me 5 months to get it off, but even after slacking off over the summer I've managed to keep it off. The overall goal is to lose another 35, which technically will still categorize me as "overweight" according to the BMI, but I know what I look like at that weight and know that it is a healthy weight for my frame.

So, here I am! My boyfriend and best friend have joined as well, so we are doing this together which really helps me stay motivated. I've also read a lot of posts on the board, which help motivate me as well. I like the convenience of being able to use the smart phone app too!

As far as time frame on when I'd like to get the 35 lbs gone, it's bascially however long it takes! I'd rather lose slow and have a better chance of keeping it off than lose fast and be back at square one!

You're approaching it in a very healthy way and seem to have a positive attitude. Those are GREAT starts. Good luck on your journey
