Indian Restaurant tonight..... help!

Right... out tonight for my nephew's birthday - what can I have to eat ? I'm driving so don't need to worry about wine (!)..... 
I'm thinking something drier (like a sizzler dish/stirfry rather than a creamy curry sauce) - happy to stir clear of rice, but opt for some veggies. Any thoughts ?
I am partial to poppadums, but have to avoid the chutney.
Any help/advice be much appreciated.....

Palak (saag) Paneer is my favorite! YUmmy! Not too bad calorie wise unless you eat a ton of it, like i do!0

Stay away from Naan, and where possible anything with Ghee (butter)
Rice should be fine in moderation, I usually go for King Prawns as loweer in calories. If you have Chicken make sure you specify breast meat, some restaurants will give you thigh otherwise.
If you have a curry with sauce, take the meat out and just have a small amount of sauce, avoid dishes like Kormas.
Veg wise is difficult, I have sag aloo but to be honest I'm not convinced it's the healthiest option.
Most importantly, you are going out to enjoy yourself, make sure you do just don't go mad. A little of what you fancy is good for you0 -
Hi, Melanie. The sizzler idea is a good one - any of the chicken kabab dishes (Sashlik, Tikka, or Nilgiri) should be safe. For the vegetable side dish consider one of these:
Bhindi Bhaji Okra cooked with onions and spices
Saag Aloo Curried potatoes with spinach
Saag Paneer Spinach with our homemade cheese
Aloo Gobi Potatoes with cauliflower
Chana Masala Chick peas cooked with onions
Tarka Dall Lentils in medium spicy sauce with a hint of garlic
All of them should have no cream (the ingredient that makes many of the curries creamy) in them.
BTW, the chutney should be be pretty low calorie - neither the tamarind-based (brown colored) sweet and hot chutney nor the green mint-coriander chutney should have any fat at all (they are water based with a bunch of spices).

I eat chicken tikka or masala with half rice and half paneer spinach. If my calculations are right, I am only in the 5-600's. Not too bad for eating out in my opinion!0

Thanks all. Some brilliant advice here - I thought I was in BIG trouble with Indian food - but will definitely find something that isnt "too bad".
Sumita in particular - thank you for your suggestions. Shashlik for sure - so maybe that is best bet. I'm not a bit okra fan, but love saag aloo and aloo gobi - so will go for that.
