I just turned 42 this month and my goal is to lose 50lbs which I’m finding really difficult especially now since I’ve recently (3 weeks ago) broken my ankle. I’m stuck in this cast in the house and unable to bear any weight on left leg at all and just crawled on scale to find that I’ve gained weight!! Very disappointed in myself and my body right now to say the least.

Well the cast has to weigh a few lbs.

But ... weight loss in 90% how much you eat and 10% how much you move ... so the broken ankle shouldn't set you back.

In the other thread they posted, they mention continuing to eat their normal diet despite not being able to exercise because "healing bone uses a lot of energy". Healing unfortunately is not the equivalent to exercise, and they gained. If it was I'm sure a break a leg diet would pop up at some point on this site.

Didn’t anyone ever teach you the adage, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing ?!? Not looking for more discouraging comments thanks! Looking for some positive motivation as I am in a difficult situation right now. FYI I did not fabricate that the body needs more energy than usual to heal, you can search online and find many resources which state this, here is just one if you care to read https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.betterbones.com/fractures-and-healing/speed-healing/amp/

@RelCanonical was right, polite, and gave good advice.

If you can't see that, you have your own issues to work though.

Eat less is the answer. Take it or leave it, it's the simple truth.
