  • PB's great if you need more calories but don't really feel like eating. It doesn't take much for the calories to add up either. I drink a few protein shakes a day. Syntha-6 Chocolate Peanut Butter's great if you like chocolate + PB. If you make them with milk you can hit about 300 calories in an 8oz shake. You could even make one and add a table spoon or 2 of PB and you could have a 400-500 calorie drink. They taste good and go down quick and easy. They also have a lot of fiber, protein and other things your body needs. Good brands of protein will have a protein blend that is slow releasing. So if you drink a shake before you go to bed, for 4-5 hours after the protein will be releasing which will keep your metabolism going. That'll help in your weight loss.

I don't think 6lb in 2 weeks is from lack of eating, you'd have to starve your body to cause your metabolism to put on weight. And even then 2 weeks wouldn't be long enough for it to lead to you putting on 6lbs. Lack of calories isn't your problem here. I do think monitoring your exercise better and entering everything you eat would be your best place to start.

I gaurantee you did not gain 6 lbs. in 2 weeks from eating too little. That is ridiculous. You have to severly cut your calories to make your body shutdown (>1,000 calories). Even if you had fasted for those 2 weeks you would have lost weight. It annoys me to see people say that they gained weight from eating too little, it's just not true.
Most likely you are overestimating how many calories you are burning in your workouts, or greatly underestimating how many calories you are eating. Or not getting your servings right.
If you are not losing weight the last thing you should do is eat extra peanut butter. Try exercising more.
  • If you feel like you can't possibly eat anymore then yes I would choose foods higher in calories. However try to make them foods heavy in healthy calories, don't go nuts on things with high sugars. Also try to meet your calories goals for the week not the day. Eating less one day and go over another to equal it all out. Juicing your own fruits and veggies is another way to get healthy nutrients and calories without that heavy feeling of eating to much. Most important pay attention to how your body is responding to more calories. Just eating more may not be the answer, if it's the normal amount of calories you used to always consume.

    Hope this helps
  • oh trust me it annoys me to think thats the case too,im only going by what i have found online and the message that appears at he bottom of my screen at the end of my day "you are getting too few calories" i may be doing the calories burned wrong i dont know as im only going by a 3.0 pace (per treadmill) and this calculator gives me a number..as far as the calories in i usually add a few in for good measure even though i measure everything out that i eat. i will add more exercising in though.is it possible that the gain was water?
