Plateau

I need some help or advice in getting over a plateau in weight loss. I have lost 25 pounds since after Christmas with a lot more to lose. I did the first 25 pounds just by watching what I was eating a little more. Last week I decided to add exercise into the mix and now the scale is kinda stuck. I know you can gain some weight after starting an exercise program so I’m frustrated. I do feel like I am losing inches which is great but I also want to see my scale numbers continue to go down. Any advice or tips for me? Thank you!

Stick to your deficit, keep doing what you're doing since it seems to be working. A new exercise regimen can cause water retention. You can expect stalls and maybe even spikes in your weight los journey. It will not be linear.8

one week of the scale not moving is not a plateau.
25lbs in 2 months is a lot. how much weight do you have to lose?10 -
1 week does not a plateau make...now if in 6 weeks you saw no movement, then it would be time to question things.
Some weeks you aren't going to see any change on the scales but others you will.
With being new to exercising its likely you are holding on to some water weight as your muscles repair themselves.8 -
You are probably just retaining water from adding the exercise. As others already stated, 1 week is not a plateau or even a stall. It's just normal fluctuation. 25lbs in less than 2 months is a lot. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?3

I’m 5’8”. When I started I weighed 280 and I’m down to 255 now. Just had my second child in October although 280 is about where I was pre-pregnancy. I honestly was not starving myself...just making healthier choices eating wise. Since I started exercising it seems like I am more hungry than I was before.2

i can go up to 20 -25 days on a plateau, and yes they suck, but keep with it, then blam! ill lose 6 lbs.1

As long as you are still losing inches, I wouldn't be too concerned. Scale weight can fluctuate, especially when starting an exercise program. I also have a similar issue with retaining water if I have too much sodium. I would just keep doing what you are doing, and reevaluate in a couple of weeks.0
