Tbh at they stage I dnt know wat to do. I live in household where my parents bring junk food. My bro likes it. I already told them I’m trying to eat healthy but they aren’t taking it srsly which is annoying. I tried losing weight so many times and each time I failed. I eat around 1400-1550 cals a day. To me this is not restricting. I know the way I’m eating right now is sustainable long term. So the problem here is junk food. Each time I see something that is not that healthy, I would eat it and then I would end up eating the whole kitchen. This is why I failed every time I tried to lose weight. At this stage I feel like I will never get to my goal weight. Ugh Idk what to do.

Either suck it up or move out. You cannot expect them to make changes to how they live because you want to lose weight. You have to have the will power to say no. If you do not like it, get your own place.17

OP how old are you?5

Key word to remember.. "portion". I still eat "junk food".. but in portion.. I still manage loose weight.6 -

You say your way of eating is sustainable but then have trouble with "bad" foods leading you to binge, which tells me something about your diet isn't sustainable. That factor is likely the complete omittence of the foods you deem as unhealthy. A key component of sustainability is balance.10

I grew up in a big household... I (or you for that matter) don't necessarily need to eat everything what parents bring home.2 -
When i first started losing weight it just seemed like suddenly everyone would eat out more and offer me pizza and Chinese and im like where was all of these offerings when i was eating everything. My main tip for you is to work with your mind and body and its the only way your going to have the willingness to lose weight. Just because people around you do it doesnt mean you have too and look on the bright side if it is healthy no one would touch it meaning you will have food for yourself. And maybe it helps to get out the house while they are eating and maybe go for a walk or go in your room and do the things you like to do.
I know it is going to be the hardest challenge in your life at the moment but prove to yourself that you can do it. I got motivational quotes on my wall and i talk to others on here for advice you have help at your disposal for free. Just yesterday everyone was eating McDonalds but i ate a healthy snack then started cooking me a healthy dinner and had them saying that smell good. So you got this im going to add you and when you feel weak and like you want to give in make a post on your wall and the community will support you.

It sounds to me like you've got a bit of a complex about "junk food". You say you stay within your calories, means you understand that calories are king here for weightloss. So what is it about this "junk food" that makes those calories any different to "healthy" calories?
Nothing. Food is food. Balance the calorie dense foods with less calorie dense foods in a way that makes sense to you. Don't have junk food on a pedestal as something bad or something you're not allowed. That will be probably be contributing to why you tend to overeat after you "give in". Treat these things as normal regular food. Plan them into your day if you want to, if you don't want to then don't. You're just making a decision, not walking a tightrope between good food and evil food.
I do suffer from these tendencies also. It can be a hard thing to snap out of and it takes work but you can't go your whole life not trusting yourself around a packet of crisps, what kind of way is that to live?8 -
Thanks guys!! I also realised that I end up eating like crazy like a week before my menstrution. That’s when like most of the over eating happens. Other days it doesn’t happen at all. I can control my mind.2

Honestly there will always be temptations. For me, I have 3 young and growing children so we usually have some sort of candy, cookies, ice cream and chips in the house. It's all about resting those that you cannot control yourself with and allowing yourself some grace and have 1 serving if you have the calories left for the day/week. Hugs!1

You should try to pinpoint the why behind your junk food binge. I know I like to snack when i'm bored and sometimes just acknowledging the fact that i'm bored and not hungry will help me redirect to something else.
Also don't deprive yourself of treats you like. Fit them into your daily calories. I love chocolate. I squeeze in 1 chocolate treat at the end of my day because dessert makes me feel like my day is complete. When I don't give myself dessert sometimes I just keep eating. If it fits into my day, then I eat it.3 -
Consume less than you burn and it will come. The easiest answer for you is to just suck it up and say no, it's not that hard.1

Sparkle I feel for you, menstruation is a key governor for many of our pulls to over eat. You may find a good vitamin and mineral preparation helpful to you, an insufficiency can contribute to problematical cycles. Please read into this using medical sites or support sites rather than anyone's blogs where the information is dubious, take care. I'm fortunate my time is past but remember it all too well.3

Get a small bowl, or even a teacup.
Put it on the scale and zero it out.
Open the bag of junk food, and pour out ONE serving (by weight) into the bowl on the scale.
(Important!) Seal up the bag and put it away before eating even a single piece of the junk food.
Carry the bowl away from the kitchen. LEAVE the junk food in the kitchen.
Eat the junk food, AND record it in your diary. Honestly.
If you want to eat more junk food? Repeat that. Eat it if you want it, but don't just leave the bag open on the counter and keep coming back for "just a little bit more." Make the junk eating ceremonial. Pull it out of the bag, display it in your bowl. See all the pieces. Select the pieces you want to eat, in the order you want to eat them. And then -- record it.8 -
I try to keep my "allowed" foods in a slightly different spot than the food that the rest of the family eats. For example, I have a separate shelf in the fridge and the freezer where I keep my yogurts and meals that I've portioned out for myself. In the pantry, I have one shelf and one basket that are my pre-portioned snacks and other non-perishable items. When I go looking for something to eat, I try not to browse through the entire fridge/freezer/pantry. I focus on my own litttle zones and try to ignore the kids' snacks and other high-calorie items that I want to avoid. If I absolutely want something off my plan, I weigh and measure it and stop with one serving just like savithny suggests.1

Pick up your own groceries, I don’t think you’d have to worry about it getting eaten by anyone else. And just make better choices when it comes to snacking, whether that be instead of chips, have some nuts. Or instead of a big bowl of ice cream, have a small bowl. Once you make making better choices a habit, the results from that will push you to the next level. Good luck2
