I am 51 years old, prediabetic and dealing with metabolic syndrome. Joined the YMCA three months ago and do nautilus strength training 3 days a week and 3-5 cardio workouts weekly. ZUMBA, Cardio boxing, treadmill and elliptical and core building yoga. I have lost a whopping 5 pounds of the 75 pounds that i need to lose and have been periodically food journaling. Im hoping this app will make my journaling more regular. It certainly makes calorie counting a breeze!

Good luck! I'm 53. As long as you log everything and measure and weigh your food/drink so you know how much you are actually eating (eyeballing it or "guesstimating" doesn't cut it) you should be good. They say that food (diet) has more impact than exercise so maybe you might want to concentrate on that for a while. I know that whenever I buckle down and measure/weigh my food, I see how wrong I was with my "guesstimating" of portion sizes. Once I do that, my weight starts to come off again.

You won't lose weight unless you are at a calorie deficit. Also make sure you are not rewarding or over eating just because you worked out. If you burn 400 calories at the gym and then go home and eat 400 calories of extra carbs then you won’t loose any weight. Also if you stick with 6 days of 1800 calories and then on Saturday you go out to eat at an Italian/Mexican restaurant and eat 3500 calories your net daily average was 2045 calories and might be the difference between losing and being at maintenance. Remember Everything Counts. Your body doesn’t believe in forgiveness.
