Hi! I’m Madeline and I’m 18 years old. I’ve always been an active person but my weight is constantly shifting depending on what sport I’m in. I’ve gotten down to 175 but now I’m back up to almost 200. If there are any other young women out there who are looking for friends and accountability people please feel free to add me!!

Hello! I'm 30, 5'4 and weigh in at about 151-152. I'm most comfortable in my skin and in my clothes at 120-125. I try to stay regularly active. I do Orangetheory fitness and I love going for a run/walk along the beach - hello from CA! Because I try to stay regularly active, I'm fortunate that my close family members and friends don't believe me when I tell them I have gained 25-30lbs in the last 5 years. My weight is pretty evenly distributed and I know what clothing looks best to hide any unflattering areas. If you compare my photos and jean size, you can definitely see the difference though. I gain weight very easily in my face. My shirts have never not fit me before because I always get a medium, but now I'm uncomfortable in them.
I think the main reason I gained the extra weight was getting comfortable eating at my work cafe. Big giant omelettes and tator-tots (omg, they're so crispy and delish ahh). "Reckless" lunches. Late dinners. Weekend drinks. Ok, so everything.
I have a goal to lose 15 lbs by my birthday in August. That means I have to lose 2.5 lbs a month which is NOT easy but VERY do-able. I started logging again last Monday and I am down 1 lb. My diet has changed. I'm eating and drinking a lot of greens (hello green smoothies!) and I'm being more mindful about portions. I do not like to measure things, but I would recommend doing so until you can eyeball these portions easily.
I have a little morning ritual and I'll share it with you beautiful ladies! Please do feel free to share you tips and tricks as well!
- wake up, go straight to the kitchen and boil a mugful of water.
- do a little stretching - just bending down and touching your toes, reaching up real high and bending slowly side to side.
- when the water almost comes to a boil, I pour the water into a mug.
- take 2 big table spoons of apple cider vinegar, straight! It is recommended you mix it in your warm water, but I can't stand it so I find that it is much easier to get it over with
- chase with the warm water (you can add 1/2 to a full lemon juice). Sit at the dinner table and ENJOY the warm water, don't rush back to get ready for work. Catch up on youtube bloggers as I sip away.
-My favorite healthy and wellness bloggers right now are Dr. Mona Vand and Annie Jaffrey. Skincare? Gothamista. I think being able to sit there in a calm environment makes it an enjoyable experience rather than just something you "have to do" to lose weight and maintain your body. Mindfulness is just as important as the food and drinks you put in your body. If you are dreading the vinegar? SKIP IT! The world will not end. Warm water with a little citrus is enough to detoxify and get your digestive system going.
As always, do your own research! Apple cider vinegar and warm water has many benefits that you may or may not find appealing to you and your lifestyle.
Can't wait to check back and hear about your progress!
