Weight Gain!

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š
I have just completed my first week using mfp. Kept within my recommend calories, had a very varied, balanced diet, drank between 2-3 litres of water a day and cut out almost completely fizzy juice.
I weighed myself this morning and I am 3.5 pounds gain ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Can anyone advise me what I have done wrong? Feeling very disillusioned currently.

    Weight loss isn't linear. You're going to have daily fluctuations. It's not going to be just one thing either. Could be you consumed too much sodium, tipping the scale. Could be that time of the month. There are many variables involved at all times. It's best to really track your progress over a period of 4 - 6 weeks and then re-evaluate whether you are truly gaining or not.

    A week isn't long enough to determine true weight loss. If you are sticking within your recommended calorie allotment, you'll see change come eventually. You'll just have to be a bit more patient for it. :smile:

    Just remember, weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint.

    Did you weigh yourself at the same time you did your first weigh in? I weigh myself every morning after I use the restroom. I find that the best time to weigh yourself as it is the most consistent.
