I am so sad for the choices I have made in my life health-wise. I am 53 and my parents are in better physical shape than I am. I want to make real change. Hope you can help me find my power to make that change.

It'll work as long as you make it work. Gotta put in the effort in watching what you eat, build willpower, avoid junkfoods, etc. Best of luck to you!

We can cheer you on, but only you can find the power to make the change :flowerforyou:

I just started too - I'm finding that tracking all of my food is really making a difference for me. Also, when I exercise, I get to eat more. Which really helps if I want a root beer float! Even if you don't see results immediately, keep tracking so you can see how you eat, when you eat, and what your weaknesses are - then you can make little changes that may help a whole lot.

You've done the hardest part. Admitting and doing something about it. You can do this. One meal, one exercise, one day at a time.

The good news is that you recognize the problem and are now willing to address it. No one can do it for you BUT the people and helpful applications on this site will help you on your journey. Take one day at a time, commit to making better choices with eating habits and some exercise. The food calculator is great - use the "plate method" to envision what you should be eating most of. Half the plate should be good leafy green vegs A little starch (potato, pasta, rice) and then protein (meat, fish, poultry. Even snacking is OK, as long as you do it IN MODERATION! Good luck and God Bless!
