152 pounds in 5 years

I initially went to my MD and after a series of tests, we found a lifestyle of food and exercise that would work for me to lose weight, keep it off, and be much healthier. It has taken over 5 years, but to date, I have lost 152 pounds and 14 inches on my waist. I have been a "slient" partner here on MFP during that time. It has not always been easy, but now the gratitude definitely far outweighs the challenges. I still have about 30 more to go and at 60 years old, it may take awhile. But as my dear departed dad taught me, "It's a waste of time to be in a hurry because usually you'll just have to do it again". I now can live nearly pain free and have an active lifestyle again which for me means a much happier marriage, fly fishing, playing jazz music out, taking photography, and hanging with my service dog Jesse. If you would like a positive, non-judgmental, and supporting friend...I'll be a safe bet. Good luck to all! :)zfldbjus61qb.jpg

That's why I love MFP - what an inspiring story, well done Sir! I am aiming to lose a little bit more - about 75 kg., 165 pounds. Question: how did you manage to transfer all those skinny body wrinkles onto those pants? :)

Good luck to you and I have found that patience is more than a virtue but necessary. The pants are wrinkled because they had been in my fat clothes storage bin for 3 years. Haha! I finally donated that bin to charity this past fall.

The best thing is how you have changed your life from living like a sick person with limited ability to get around, to an active, involved person who is able to enjoy the good things in life. That is just fantastic! Great work, and very inspiring! Very happy for you!

Great work! That is a great accomplishment. The fact that you did that over 5 years is even more impressive, because that is a lifestyle change and not just a quick fix diet.
