Huey Lewis is Oldies? Good God, I'm getting old. I need ice cream, or a 6 pack.0

Personally I like Hardstyle, Its got some heavy beats altho it is a bit of marmite style music (either love it or hate it)

I have seen a personal gym music list vary by what type of music that person likes in a general sense. I suggest making sure you keep to things with a fast tempo for running, or any type of cardio that you might be doing. I will list a few songs below that may help out. Best of luck.
The Qemists - Stompbox
Static-X - Skinnyman
Apocalyptica - Life Burns!
LL Cool J - Headsprung0 -
For me I turn to stuff that doesn't have a whole lot of slow songs:
Daughtry, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Kid Rock and recently I've started doing my strength training to Jason Aldean -- just cause I him. lol0 -

Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm

many of the Rocky IV soundtrack songs. I hear that stuff and think of Rocky training and it motivates me.
Billy Squire's 16 Strokes is a solid work-out album.
There are a lot of 80s hard rock banks that I listen to. Def Lepard has some really good songs to work-out to (i.e., Woman, Photograph, Foolin, Rock of Ages, Animal, etc.). I like Poison as well (and, on a side note, one of my favorite hard rock songs is "Poison" by Alice Cooper).
Celine Dion's "River Deep, Mountain High" is a nice work-out song.
Some of MC Hammer's songs....Gaining Momentum, Pray, Please Don't Pass Me By0 -
I get bored if I don't know the words or if there aren't any words.
I usually listen to Pandora on my iphone-- lots of different stations and I just skip through if the song's lame. Hole, Kittie, Gogol Bordello, Jack off Jill, The Beatles...0 -
wow, a lot to select from cheers mfp friends, some serious downloading to do0
