Hey I'm Sarah. I'm new to My Fitness Pal. New to weightloss. Any tips or advice? I have like 80lbs to lose....

Eat less calories than your body burns.
Most all of your caloric burn is just daily stuff like keeping your temp at 98 degrees.
Exercise is good, but it takes a LOOOOOT of exercise to earn a cupcake.
If you want to lose weight... eat less.3 -
Exercise for health, diet for weightloss, it really is that simple.
Eating less calories, called a caloric deficit, will result in the scale changing. Working up a sweat on the elliptical will enhance cardio ability and assist a little in burning fat.
That said, scales will confuse the hell out of you and will fluctuate, nothing is linear. I weigh in once a week but I can be heavier on the Saturday than the day after. This can be water retention, especially in women.
Weigh your food, log it daily and enjoy the vast array of fruit/veg/fish/meat/dairy etc and choose foods that fill you up. I'm cutting at the moment but still enjoy baked beans and cheddar cheese on toast, roast dinners and dark chocolate. It's all been accounted for in my allotted calories for the day.
