I am not new to myfitnesspal, but I have never used the social aspect. Help me get plugged in.

-45 year old ER doc. Rotating shifts and nights hurt the sleep and eating routines.
-I typically am rather good during the day but probably eat half of my calories 1-2 hours before bed. Binge eating disorder to satisfy stress and some depression. Myfitnesspal has helped me in the past.
-I exercise a lot.
-I weight 185 and would like to be under 175.
-I am currently reading "Atomic Habits" at my wife's recommendation. So far it talks about focusing on changing your identity (eg. a healthy eater) instead of setting a goal. I will report back as I read through it. I know that changing my habits/routine at night will help me.

Anyway, hello to all.

-Dave

Night time eating has always been one of my biggest issues also! I started intermittent fasting, so that I gave myself a start and stop time. So far, I’m only six days into this, and I have had no issues at night. I’m really struggling with hunger in the morning though. Thankfully I do have more willpower in the mornings! Blessings on your journey!

    Welcome, Dave.

There's nothing wrong with saving 1/2 of your daily calories to consume before bedtime if that's what you prefer. When you eat is irrelevant to weight management, it's how much you eat that matters. What, typically, do you eat during your 'binges?'
