Pregnancy

Hi everyone. Im currently pregnant with my 4th child. I always gain 'too much' weight and it makes me uncomfortable and in fear of having complications during the birth. Im hoping to control what iam gaining. Currently im 23 weeks and have already gained 10kgs! I quit smoking a few months prior and gained 6kgs so i feel as though im already 16kgs heavier than my normal weight. Ive recently moved from a cold climate to a hot one so struggling a little with the weight and heat. Im hoping to use mfp to get a little control back over my situation. Although there is no setting for pregnancy. Im hoping to maintain my current weight for the next 7 weeks. My doctor and i agree this would be healthy. Any tips for exercise, or recipes or anyone that has successfully followed mfp during their pregnancy :-) thanks

You can set MFP to maintenance, weigh your food and record accurately and eat to whatever number MFP gives you.

I am 27 weeks with #2. I am way overweight so technically no weight gain in necessary for a healthy pregnancy.... the first OB I went to with #1 told me I should aim to lose 5-15lbs in my pregnancy -- needless to say that seemed completely unrealistic and for that to be one of the first 3 things she said to me .... I found another OB who was less judgmental and more supportive IF I needed help in that area.

#1 I gained 18lbs - he was an 8lb baby and I lost the weight pretty quickly once he was out with BF.
#2 I've gained 10lbs with 14 weeks left of the fastest growth so I too am cracking down on my intake and exercise. Eating smaller more frequent meals also helps me avoid eating too much or going for a less healthy option when the hanger sets in.... This girl I'm growing is a veggie hating carb loader..... compared to my 1st pregnancy I actually craved veggies over anything else.

I set my MFP to maintenance since I am not TRYING to gain weight... I just know it will happen. Also, I do not have gestational diabetes, however I find monitoring my Blood Glucose really helps me see what I eat does on the inside. I got a kit for $60 on amazon that has more than enough supplies to last me thru this pregnancy. Helps inspire better choices after this sugar baby gets her way. :D

MFP is HUGE at realizing what you're eating it syncs into iHealth on iPhone (unfortunately my steps dont come into MFP).
