Hello I'm struggling hard core. I have been on this site so many times its ridiculous. I was 212 lbs when I first started this long time ago. I'm at 206 now . I will get as low as 197 and go back up to 200. I have tried to lose weight alone and I cant do it . I need push and support

    I suggest you find a long-standing (one that has been ongoing for a while) group or challenge to join. You will find support that will not evaporate and a place to be accountable.

    You can reassess your goals and make them more attainable. If you are too restrictive with your food choices and calorie deficit you are more likely to give up because it is all too hard.

    Start with accurately logging your food for a week. Be totally honest. From there work out which good combinations you find most filling. Work out where you can cut back on portions or change to lower calorie options while still feeling that you are not doing without. Make changes gradually rather than all at once and don't make changes you know you will not stick with. Make sure your deficit is doable. You are much better losing slowly long term than quickly and giving up.

    This is a marathon and not a sprint. You will falter but just get back to it and keep going forward when you do.

    Get measuring cups, scale for food, log everything. Set yourself as sedentary, focus on the cals for a month. Stop drinking sugar drinks or alcohol if you do. Make a list of your fav junk food and don’t eat it for a month. See where it takes you. Leave your diary open and have friends who will read your diary and help keep you accountable.

    You clearly don't sound like a quiter, so you have the hard part of this down already.
    As others have said, this is a marathon. Slow and steady will get you this win.

    You need to find a way of eating that is sustainable for you. Once you find that the weight will start coming off and stay off.

    Also don't be hard on yourself. An awful lot of folks restart one time or many before settling in. Like the others have said, it's a journey.

    One tip that did help a friend of mine with the same questions though, I suggested he set his goals small. He had about 85lbs to lose and got depressed every time he got on a scale. After changing his goals to 5lbs per month - everything changed, literally. He hit his goals easily and now maintains (for about a year) mid 170s.

    To follow up on an earlier suggestion, here's a link to a group I am in, and which has been super helpful. It's a team challenge that runs a month at a time, and has been going strong for years. We have weekly weigh-ins, we check in daily (how are you doing as regards your plan for yourself for food, water, exercise), and there is lots of supportive conversation (so people talk about what's going on, get support, talk about challenges, etc.). You are more than welcome to join us now, be part of a team's cheer squad while you wait for April registration. You can join in your team's chat and even weigh-in each week along with your teammates. It just won't count towards the challenge until the following month. Let us know!

    I’m back again too after years of on-again, off-again, so I know the feeling! I’m just focusing on celebrating even the tiniest wins - one full day of sticking to my calorie goal, or congratulating myself when I realize I’m actually counting out individual snow peas for my snack in order to be sure I’m tracking correctly, stuff like that. So much of dieting starts with what we don’t like about ourselves - I think if we make it more about wins, the teeny tiny choices we make all day long that add up to long-term “stick-to-it-ness” in the end, we’re more likely to feel happy about doing it.

    That said, personally it’s too easy for me to “cheat” when I know people here will always say “it’s ok, get back on the horse, setbacks are normal!” Well, setbacks have become my “norm”, for sure, so I have to force myself to just focus on staying on plan for the next five minutes, ten minutes, just one full day, let’s just see if I can stick to it one week, etc.

    (Oh, and for what it’s worth, I finally, officially, put my scale in the closet. I measure my success, and reward myself, based on just sticking to my calorie plan - NOT by the scale. That’ll come, but the scale lies. A lot. Scales are mean.)
