If ur getting started and know u have little to no endurance; my advice would be to get a stepper. That is what I did. I would tell myself I was only allowed to play video games and watch TV if I was using the dang stepper!

That’s a good idea. I do that with a mini bike you can pedal when you sit on a chair.3

I want one of those for work. I'm a computer tech, so I do run around and fix things in other locations, but I still sit on my butt a lot and I think one of those might help.

I really underestimated how much it helped me. Although at first I didn't see the weight coming off, it totally made me realize how much longer it took me to get tired. At first I could barely walk on one or even use an exercise bike. Eventually I ended up being able to use one for an entire movie2 -
Food anxiety, like most forms of anxiety, can be helped with exposure. I would sometimes completely avoid social events if I knew food I couldnt calorie count or check the nutrition label on were present. However Learning that eating something without knowing the calories or eating "unhealthy" foods isn't gonna make you immediately gain is a learning process. Sometimes learning this without going on a binge after is nearly impossible But I've learned that forcing myself into doing these things little bits at a time has really helped.0

As a programmer I'd kill to get my hands on a standing desk. I use a lot of resistance bands to discreetly train at my desk without catching nasty looks.

Go to your doctor and request that they write a script for you to get one. Turn it into your HR department. Your employer must allow you to use a standing desk and may even purchase it for you.
We've had employees get scripts for ergonomic keyboards, stationary mice, and adjustable monitors.1 -
