Currently I weigh 358lbs. On March 3, I weighed 370.1lbs. Now, I've lost already 12 pounds in 11 days, now I know the first 5-10 pounds are for sure water, but when does the actual fat start coming off? I'm just curious, not tryna rush things, this is gonna be a lifestyle for me. But, I've always been curious at how much water weight a person can lose and when the body starts losing fat. Also, since march 3, I have dranked a gallon of water a day. No liquid calories since that date, literally a gallon of water, wondering if that will put more water weight on or does it actually help lose the water weight?

You are probably losing fat now as well if you are eating at a calorie deficit. I am sure not all of the 12 pounds is fat loss, but I'm also equally sure it's probably not all water weight either. When you have a lot of weight to lose, you tend to be able to lose fat quicker and safer than those who have less to lose.

And yes, even though it sounds counter intuitive, drinking more water actually helps you lose water weight, because you body retains less water.

You will probably continue to lose some combination of fat and water weight for some time, with your weight loss slowing and your percentage of fat in the loss going up and the percentage of water going down. There's no exact timing or formula to predict it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep on your goals, and give it time. As long as the long term trend keeps moving downwards, you are doing it right.
