Hi all, is there any low impact exercise i can do to help aid weight loss?

I suffer from multiple sclerosis and have motor fatigue so high intensity exercises are too much for my body.

i'm recovery from various injuries and mostly have been walking. weight loss is mostly about what you eat anyway.

Rowing machine would be a decent option for your intentions of helping staying in a deficit.

Yoga, swimming, walking. I just tried bodystrikes by PowerStrike with Ilaria Montagnani. Very low impact leg workout.

Walking is good, see if there are any classes like zumba gold near you (though you look a bit young for that!). Or try some low impact workout DVDs - Rosemary Conley is good as she always has a low impact option -and TBH even the high impact one is not massive! You could also see if there are any "sitting" classes, which would work your upper body.

When I first started wanting to be more fit my knees hurt too much to do much of anything but aquafitness classes were great, it was super fun but then I LOVE being in the water. As others have already mentioned if your goal is to lose weight all you need is a calorie deficit but if you are also looking to add fitness then things like walks and aquafitness are great.

Agree with Panini911, losing weight is mostly about what you eat. Regular exercise will make you feel better and relieve any stress, so it's worth finding something you can do without discomfort. Swimming is great if you enjoy it. If you want home exercise, Hasfit has some low impact video routines that you can do at home. It's free with ads or you can remove ads for moderate fee. Hope you find something that works for you ...Sue x

Be guided by dr / physiotherapist advice for what is/isn't appropriate ... armed with that information, if you enjoy it, it's the best one for you.

Even if it is on the "ok'd by dr list" but you AREN'T enjoying it .... try something else until you find what fits best for YOU.

Elliptical, stationery or actual bike, strength training in addition to those mentioned above.

    walking...swimming...cycling

Weight management is largely about diet though. The calories one burns with exercise is typically relatively small in comparison to the calories you burn just being alive and going about your day to day. Exercise just gives you a little bit of a buffer.

I have a really screwed up left knee and I’m in the same boat. I do Pilates, power yoga and body weight exercises. I would recommend giving Pilates and yoga a try. You probably could do some body weight exercises.
I like Sarah Beth Yoga, Blogilates and Rebecca Louise Fitness. They’re all on YouTube and all have free, full length workouts that don’t require any equipment.
