Sweating too much???

So I am trying to figure out if I sweat more than normal or if what I deal with is the norm.

I walk on the treadmill @ 3.3 mph on a 10% grade. It says I burn 200 cals in 25 mins (just for a reference of how "hard" the work out is I am at 125 pounds).

I sweat like CRAZY. My hair gets soaked my body gets all soaked my sports bra gets icky. I feel like this CAN'T be normal...but maybe it is? If I were running I would understand it but walking??? I mean yes, it is uphill, but still!

Is this normal? Not?

I get so sweaty my underwear are wet so stop complaing =)
sweating is good, dont worry about it.

Also the more water you take in you would sweat more.

I was wondering that too...glad you asked and glad to know we're normal!
  • I barely sweat at all (which sucks because even after a really hard workout I look like I have not done much) and my sister drips sweat just cleaning house. I think each body is just different. Just act like it means you worked harder than anyone else at the gym!

When I take my hair elastic out from the bottom of my braid about a half ounce of sweat comes with it. I get disgustingly sweaty.

Nothing's worse than pulling that sweaty sports bra off over your face after a workout huh?

I get really sweaty too, especially when I do long weight training session .... or dance :) And when I do play tennis I sweat too and I grind too. I am loud... what it comes natural... what can I do... Also if I keep drinking I am sweating even more. Naturally.

    Ewww yes.

Right now I cheat. I walk up the stairs remove pants and shoes and jump in the pool to cool off...so when I remove it, it is just water haha. That isn't going to be possible in a few more weeks.

I sweat buckets from my head/face. I end up with a soaked top around the neck. Absolutely hate it. I envy those who leave the gym with a glow. I wish I could do something to stop it.

Add me to the "some people just sweat more" responses. My mom and I sweat like PIGS at the slightest provocation. My little sister? Barely gets a damp forehead from an hour of running cross country.

My sweating is so gross that when I was a ballet dancer I couldn't partner effectively because I was SO SWEATY I was too slippery to hold. My poor fellow dancers got sprayed with sweat when I would be running by, as rapid gestures would fling droplets in every direction.

    Talk about embarrassing. :noway:

I second that. Insanity is crazy hard! I sweat more in 30 minutes of Insanity than I do running 4 miles in the 95 degree heat.

Once I began working out often, I started to sweat like crazy too. My hair would get soaked. I actually researched it because I thought something was wrong with me as I had never sweat while exercising that much before but it seems that the more fit you get, the more effective your body gets at cooling off. So while you are sweating more, you are actually losing less sodium. It's actually a good thing.
Of course, some people just sweat more but if you have noticed an increase in your sweat while exercising that could be why.

I find that interesting. It seems backward haha. I have just noticed an increase. I NEVER used to sweat so it is odd for me.

I walk on the treadmill at a 15% grade at a speed of 2.7-2.8 and by the end I am soaking wet.. so it's not just you.
hell today I was doing weights and just bending over for my water bottle made beads of sweat pop out of my face and drip down.. sick!

Walking outside for 10 min can make me look like I got sprayed in the face with a hose. Regardless of weather conditions, I will be sweating like crazy. I don't even want to get started on when I go to the gym lol...My shirt gets totally soaked, my hair gets super disgusting and I look like I fell in the pool with my clothes on.

I felt so self-conscious when I started exercising since I thought my sweating was super abnormal, but I'm glad to find out that I'm not the only one :)

I'm a natural "sweaty" person. My dad's the same way. I think for me it's genetics and has nothing to do with being in shape, not in shape, or what have you. I keep hoping that dropping weight will make a difference.

It's SOOO embarrassing though. I HATE IT. HATE. I feel all ya'lls pain.

A friend told me that too. I responded, "Then I must be a very toxic person!"
