Walk and jog intervals before or after dinner?

So I'm adding walking/running intervals at night after work. Any thoughts if I should do before or after a healthy dinner?

Totally up to personal preference. If you are unsure, try both, and see which one you feel better with.

I can't run immediately after eating - it really upsets my stomach. After a light meal, I'll wait at least an hour before doing a short run. After a heavy one, two or three hours. If running is new to you, you'd do better to run before you eat. If you're starving, eat a banana or drink some juice before starting.

Try both and see what you prefer. I, like the above poster, can't run right after eating. It makes me nauseous.

I think this could really vary by person

I like to have a very light snack about 45 minutes beforehand, usually a banana. I couldn't run on a full stomach, I'd probably puke

As everyone else says, try each and see what you like. I’ll tell you that for ME, moderate exercise tends to suppress my appetite so I would run before eating while I was trying to lose weight.

Thanks guys! I did a short 15 min walk/jog intervals last night while my teen son cooked dinner. I was starving when I got done lol.. Will probably have a snack before it tonight.

I typically have a snack about 45 minutes before jogging outside. Then dinner within an hour of getting home.

I go before. I can't run after a meal. A snack 30 min before is fine.

There is no added health benefit one way or the other but I find that I have tummy issues if I eat a full meal before running. If I am hungry and need energy, an English muffin with peanut butter does the trick for me. If I need added energy for a long run, Honey Stinger Organic Chews are my go-to.

Doesn't matter to me, just as long as I poop before the run.
