Hi all my name is Sharon and I am trying to get myself back to normal. Back in 2004 I was 120 pds Well I got pregnant for my first child in 2004 At the end of that pregnancy I was 132 had a healthy 6pd 9 oz baby girl. After I had her I lost all that weight and went down to 96 pds un healthy yes I tried everything to put on a few pds nothing worked. Well me and my husband got married in 2009 and wanted to have another baby well come to our surprise we were pregnant and it was twins. Yes I said twins. All natural and it does run on both sides of our family. But who would of thought Lol. Well I went from 96 to 130 and I had healthy 6pd 2oz and 6 pd 3oz twin baby boys. Go me!!Lol Well my problem is I need to loose this baby weight I am very self conscious and don’t like the way I look. No I don’t want to look like 96 pds again but I do want to loose some weight. I carry myself like im still pregnant with twin but about 3 mts not 9. And I have a hunch on my back from carrying them. Cause I was so heavy. And im starting to get comments and Its not helping me. I carry like I have a baby bump. And don’t know how to fix it. So here are my questions?
1. How do I fix that baby bump that there is no baby in?
2. What are some good exercises to do to flatten my stomach out?
3. What are some good meal plans to help me and my family to keep us all healthy?

I'm no expert, but I feel like I walk like a pregnant person must walk sometimes because I carry so much of my weight right in my gut. I started doing Yoga when I started MFP, and it's really helped me think about my posture. I think that has helped me not to carry myself like that quite so much. Just a thought. It can't hurt, right? Plus, I fell hard in love with it anyways0

Yoga is awesome for posture. It's harder than it looks. Not for wusses. You get stronger every time you do it. I would also suggest trying something new, maybe something you haven't done before. Keeps it interesting. Congrats on your twin babies and good luck to you on getting back in shape.0

It does take a little while to readjust our gait after a challenging pregnancy. My son carried very low, so the way I walk completely changed over the 9 month (and he was full term..had to be induced). I walked like a penguin for years! He's 3 now. Teh bump will go away once you strengthen your core and rid of any overlying fat. Cardio can burn the fat, but weight training in addition to the cardio will give you the results you're looking for. You need that strength training to tighten that mid-section. Engage your core with everything you do, lol.
I remember when I was in my undergrad years and I had a little pudge, I'd suck in my stomach all the time - the whole time I was out of the house. Not knowing then that I was engaging my core. So when I began to exercise (weight training + martial arts) my tummy got flat in 1 semester!
As far as diet...my nutritionist once told me to decrease the amount of carbs you take in as the day progresses. So most of your carbs with breakfast, less with lunch, and hardly any past that. Eat regularly (every 2-3 hours) to keep your metabolism going strong, and make sure you get your recommended cals in each day. try not to go too much under or over.
Hope this helps!0 -
I like the posture comment. I have twins, now 15 years old. So, really, I would advise - yes, yoga will help posture. A book or internet tutorial about posture would be helpful as well: that posture will only get worse if you don't start taking care of it. I would also advise: cardio and strength training for the weight and tummy bump, and to keep yourself strong as you deal with the twins. There's a lot of carrying around for them, although I'll bet the older child is a help. Twins were my first children. When the third child came around, my husband and I couldn't believe how little work he was - what - no second bath or meal or jams or diaper changes? That child is now 11.
Meals: well, you probably know what you should be eating. Let me say this: every "diet" out there is junk and some are dangerous because they cut too many calories. You don't want to invoke the starvation response by undereating and you do want to focus on losing 1-2 pounds a week. This site seems to have it right.
I wish you all the best and enjoy those children.0 -
Definitely remember that you can't target train just one particular part of your body. You have to let your entire body make a change all together (I hope that made sense) I personally enjoy doing Jillian Michaels workouts. I'm currently doing 30 Day Shred and Ripped In 30. Both of these workouts are amazing and under 30 minutes. You get your strength, cardio, and ab workout all together during these 30 minute routines. I love it! I am a mother of two young girls. I delivered both by c-section and sometimes women who deliver this way have a different shape to their belly after they have their baby. I have had a hard time trying to get my tummy back to being somewhat normal. But with her workouts I am already seeing a big difference! I hope you find something that works for you and I wish you the best of luck!0
