Stress eating

I’m a stress eater. I’ve been doing well with my weight loss so far, I’ve been going at it for a month but today has me a little stressed out (SAHM with a toddler who won’t stop saying “mommy mommy!” But then won’t tell me what he wants). I really want to just eat a ton of cheese and be happy but then this last month would be a waste.

I definitely had to work on both handling stress better and coping with stress in healthier ways to keep myself on track. Just saying "don't eat when stressed" did not work, lol. Had to redirect elsewhere.0

Oh man can I sympathize with not just stress eating, but mom of toddler stress eating. The only real advice I have is to maybe eat at maintenance today and get back to a deficit tomorrow. Otherwise, hang in there and try not to lose your mind.1 -
I understand your struggle. Big stress-eater here, too! I'm trying to stay on track by eating fat-free Greek yogurt or hard-boiled eggs when the urge strikes. Popping the yogurt in the freezer for a while makes me feel as though I'm eating ice cream. Simple carbohydrates are a trigger food for binge-eating, for me. Keeping plenty of eggs and yogurt in the house, and keeping the trigger foods out, is the only way for me to avoid bingeing. It also sets a good example for my grandchildren. As puffbrat said, hang in there and get back on track tomorrow. One day at a time.1
