Lost weight and lost my motivation

2 years ago I decide it was time to get healthy. I successfully lost 33lbs. But now I’m struggling. I have chronic ankle instability.... and i can no longer run like i used to. So I’m in a rut! I want to get back on track but having a hard time. I’m sure I’ve gained weight during these past 2 months but I’m not gonna go there till I’m a bit in a routine.

it's discouraging when an injury sidelines someone from doing what they love. perhaps a visit to a physio might help you find out what you may be able to do to strengthen your ankle. i've had to re-adapt my exercise regiment because of chronic knee issues. for me - i can no longer run or dance, but i CAN cycle and walk. initially it's frustrating for sure - but if you are adamant about your health - you can do this! good luck <3

I hear you. But having avoided the scale in the past when I knew I'd gained some weight only led to avoiding it longer and gaining more. My advice to my previous self would have been what I'll advise you: Give yourself two weeks maximum to face the scale. Don't go crazy trying to lose weight or work yourself to death in the two weeks. Just cut back reasonably, think about how you're going to get your mojo back, then hop on the scale and get going.

    Good luck!

weight loss is all about food intake. i've not been able to do much since an injury in AUGUST. up to then i was running and increasing my speed and distance leaps and bounds.

it's been a long haul. things flaired up this week so i'm even having to lay off the walking. but once this is better the physio recommended easing into stationary bike.

I kept weighing and logging and am 2pds away from my most recent goal (which is beyond my initial "last 5pds" which are said to be the hardest). i can't imagine what things would be like had i decided 6mts to screw the weight loss given my inability to exercise.

i stayed in the game by ensuring a reasonable deficit and eating foods i enjoyed each day. and laying off the beer/wine sadly.

but i am SUPER anxious to move more, get some real cardio in AND muscle building.
