I found it hard too, but then I got a 56 oz, travel bottle with a core that you can remove and freeze so the water stays cold most of the day. The bottle is BPA free too. I got it at Kohl's for under $10. Once I had that with me at work, it surprised me how easy it is to drink the whole thing during the work day.
Dont forget to count any liquid you have...not just the water. coffee or tea counts too as far as I know.0 -
I think it takes a little time fro the body to get used to it. It will retian if we starve it of water so it takes a little time to reverse it. But if you star t the day off with 16 ounces and end it wiht the same, you only have to drink 4 more 8 ounce cups a day.0

I have a large glass that I drink from. It holds 500ml of water. I fill it 4 or 5 times a day. It's easier because I feel like I'm drinking less then I am. I fill it twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon and once in the evening. When I break it down like that, it doesn't seem as much. I also don't drink anything but water. I work from home so it's easy for me to do that. I'm not sure if coffee or tea or any other drink counts. I think water is in a category of itself. You should have at least 8 cups of WATER a day. It can be a little much I agree at first. You'll get used to it.0

Tea and coffee do not count! they are dehydating and you should drink an extra glass of water for each cup of tea or coffee you have to flush the caffine Sorry!
If you are having issues getting the water in add crystal light, lemon and or lime.
As well I find it helps having a bottle of water beside your bed and drink 16ozs before you get out of bed in the morning. Not only have you had 2 out of 8, it also re-hydrates you and gets your day off to a great start think about it you drink water all day and then stop for 8 hours.... I just started doing this and I find it helps me get moving in the morning!
As well it will take time for your body to get used to this, but you will feel better for it, you need to flush your toxins!
But please keep in mind if you have Kidney isses or have family members with Kidney problems, speak to your doctor before increasing your water/fluid intake.
Take care0 -
Pamela, try drinking your water through a straw. That seems to help me drink it faster. Good luck. :flowerforyou:

I find that I'm really good about it in the morning and early afternoon. After that....I'm not drinking much at all exception a glass of water at dinner and the occasional glass of wine. Does it matter as long as you get your quota in?0

Girl me too! You should find a good filtering water bottle- they are wonderful. You can fill it up with water from a hose, a college campus water fountain, any tap, even muddy water- and it will run clear and delicious every time. You get addicted to the clean, refreshing yummy-ness, that tastes the same every time, and will no doubt be sucking on it all day like me.0

I couldn't find the exact one I have, but this looks almost exactly like it- I must just have an older model.

Also, someone mentioned drinking through a straw- I agree. That must be part of why I like this water bottle so much. Also, I find that drinking less cold water is easier. If it's room temperature (not like tepid- ew), I can drink quickly. Also, cold water shocks your vocal chords!0 -
I have a water bottle that holds 32oz and has a straw. I fill that thing up and before I know it I've drank it all. Another thing you can do, and I know it sounds weird, but trust me, it tastes good - add sliced cucumber to your water...It is super refreshing and makes it so it's not so boring!0

You'll be happy to know that you only need to drink 6 8oz glasses of water daily, not 8 like previously believed. Does that help? :laugh:0

It just takes some time to get used to it but if you keep going, you will find yourself looking forward to water!
I have these cups at home that hold 24 ounces each. My goal is to get AT LEAST three of them down a day. I start my day with one. It used to take me 30 minutes to get it down. Now, I do it in 5 to 10 minutes. I use that as incentive to sort of earn my one cup of coffee that follows.
BUT, I will drink those cups and then I have a water bottle I use at the gym that holds around 30 ounces and I usually chug that there too.
And I rarely drink anything but water so I find it very easy to get all my required intake in. And now, if I drink a soda, it tastes horrible to me!! Weird huh??0 -
Squeeze fresh lemon or lime into your water. Herbal teas count as they do not have caffeine.0

You can add one of those Crystal Light single packages to your water. I do that once or twice a day .0
