What is your favorite food scale and why?

With my daily calorie allowance going down as I lose weight, I have less margin for error. So, I'm thinking of buying a food scale. I mostly eat chicken breasts, brown rice, and vegetables.
What is your favorite scale and why? What features do you like best about it? I want one that doesn't take up a lot of counter space.

Mainstays digital kitchen scale ..I like it because it weighs grams & ounces up to 10lbs. it has an easy to read display and I love the tare button ....I think I paid 10.00 at Target (I bought it years ago)1

Any food scale that weighs in grams, and/or in ounces to a couple decimal points, and has a tare function is going to work fine for weight loss purposes. I haven't come across a digital food scale that didn't have these things. Some of them have extras like timers or additional units, which I've never used, so I would personally just go with whatever you like the look of or whatever is cheapest. I'm currently using an older model of this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H5ZQTES/ref=dp_cerb_31

Look for any scale that weighs in grams, will record negative weight, has a high enough total capacity for a big pot of something (to calculate recipe serving numbers), and has a tare (zero with something sitting on scale) function. A small footprint scale is fine as long as it has a high weight capacity, because you can put a bowl or pan on the scale to elevate a wider container that would otherwise cover up the weight display. Brand isn't super important.
And learn the tips for using a scale, as that's what makes a scale not just more accurate, but also quicker and easier, than measuring with cups/spoons. There are tips in this thread (despite the title):

i like my OXO scale it has a pull out display so i dont have to mess with balancing a plate on a bowl to read it. It weighs up to 11 lbs which covers even my biggest crock pot for weighing recipes. ( they do have a 22 lb version though). https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Stainless-Pull-Out-Display-11-Pound/dp/B000WJMTNA0

I like the OXO scale that weighs up to 5# because the part you read has a pull-out cord which makes it easy to read with something as wide as a dinner plate sitting on the scale without having to put another item on to elevate the plate. It's about $30 from Amazon, though, so if that convenience isn't worth the extra bucks, don't bother. I've been using this scale for 5 years and just have to change the batteries from time to time (rechargeable AAs).1

I have a small 10$ one off of Amazon that does grams, oz, lb/oz and ml. Any scale is fine really0
