Dear TOM:

I hate you...

I hate how you make me feel like I gained a size. I hate how your prescence makes me grumpy. I hate that it makes me want to make everything covered in salt. I hate how you make me have to spend money on pieces of cotton. I hate that you make the scale several pounds higher. I hate that I cannot tell if I lost weight, if I gained weight or stay even for a week.

And I hate that you insist on coming one week in every four of my life.

SIncerely:
Izzy

Some of those things are verryyyyy annoying. However. There is an alternative to the buying pieces of cotton. Have you heard of menstrual cups? They are worth checking out! I love mine and haven't bought pads or tampons in almost 3 years.

^ great link with tons of information on all the various brands.

Sorry if this is TMI, but sometimes I can't help myself! Getting mine honestly changed my life and how I view TOM. Don't mind it much at all now...

YAY I am not alone!!! =) Yes, google is good too - but do your research if you decide to get a cup - they come in a lot of different sizes/brands. I started with the Diva and it ended up not working well for me. So I did some searching and ended up getting a Ladycup, which works much better for me!

Isn't this kind of like saying, "dear air - I hate that sometimes you rain!"?

And what about all the poor guys named Tom?

I also hate How I can eat 1200 calories on a normal day and not be starving...but it's only 9:30 AM and I had one of my higher calorie breakfasts today (oatmeal) and I'm STARVING...I'm inputting the rest of my day right now to see where I stand calorie wise...I'm so going to end up going over by like 200 calories. I've worked out 5 days in a row so today is a rest day for me too, and I honestly feel like my body needs the rest.

I wonder why women are hungrier during TOM?

    Here is my idea.
You don't get your period until your like in your 20's or until you 1st have sex.
Ya it might sound crazy but thats always been my thoughts.

If I had a penny for every one of these threads that was started I'd probably be able to afford enough chocolate to shove up the vaginas of every woman that's ever b*tched about their period, and sort out the problem at its source.

Just be grateful we didn't come of age 100 or so years ago. Now THAT would have been a pita. Even my own mother had to wear these funky belts. And because my grandmother had had a hysterectomy at age 22, there was nothing in the house. My mom's older brother had to run out and get the feminine products for his younger sister.

Yet, we're still here and get along just fine...

I hate it when my menstrual cycle comes every month like it has for the past 13 years. Man. I hate that.

    wow, two snarky pantses.

dear TOM - I hate how sometimes you stay with me for NINE days, and then come back 13 days later! 4 periods in one summer pisses me off!

Cups are awesome! I was worried about using one when I got my IUD, though (the suction can mess with the strings), but I got a Mirena and haven't bled enough since then to even need my cup. Win! It's cut way, way back on my PMS issues.
