Pretty excited if they keep the true unlimited plans. For those of you that have Sprint, are you happy with it?

I am slightly excited....I have Blackberry and it's getting on my last nerve though not sure I have the patience to learn the IPhone either...plus, my husband works for Sprint so I get a great discount on the services and may possibly get the phone for free Can't complain about that!0

Very excited, when are they getting it? is there a date out there yet?0
-
Are you serious? I have a droid sprint phone that I am dying to get rid of. I will hold out for the new iphone though. Do you know when?0
-
YAAAAAAY!!!!!!! Guess what my next phone will be?!?!?!?!?!0
-
Sounds like it will be October. It's been all over the news and internet for the past few days/weeks.0
-
it's going to be released to all 3 carriers (VZW, ATT, and Sprint) at the same time.... early October. The 5th or the 7th I believe.0

this is the first i heard about it...i hope so i hate my blackberry anymore!0

That's pretty awesome! I do like that it brings more competition to AT&T, but still wouldn't switch because I like my surf/talk ability too much, and AT&T has the only CDMA network, so is the only one with that capability. Maybe it'll cause more competitive prices, though, with iPhone being available on the 3 major carriers now, though!0

The iPhone 5 will have talk/text capability on the CDMA networks as well. AT&T no longer has a monopoly on that.0

Yep...October it is.0

Noooo..... I just got the white 4 a few months ago.
Sprint and ATT didn't work in my area, luckily I like Verizon.0 -

Only if she's on WiFi. It's impossible for her to do both if she's strictly carrier because they aren't CDMA.
For instance, my friend and I are both out running. I have AT&T and she has Verizon. There is no available WiFi where we run, but we both receive full 3G signal. We are both using Runmeter to use the GPS on our phones to track our run. If I receive a call, it doesn't interrupt my GPS capabilities and tracks my run without a problem and I can talk to whomever calls at the same time. If she receives a call, her GPS drops on the app because her Verizon phone can't do both at the same time without WiFi.
The only other carrier with CDMA was T-Mobile and AT&T bought them, unfortunately. I was hoping they would eventually get the iPhone because they really had the best true unlimited rates around!0 -
yay!!! thats around my bday! im camping out to get it!0

That is really unfortunate! The iPhone 5 is supposed to fix a lot of the flaws with the 4. It might be worth it to do a trade in or an exception upgrade. (I'm not sure if Verizon allows this, but AT&T did. Got the phone for new contract price and only had to pay like $45 as an upgrade fee.)
(Sorry. I am a true tech geek and love my gadgets... I used to research gadgets for a living and find out best model/price/carrier. And I'm really excited to replace my 3GS in February! lol)0 -
Oooh...I wonder how much this will set me back. I have Sprint and am due for an upgrade. I was considering getting an HTC Evo 3D, but this is definitely enticing...0

I even mistyped earlier and said that AT&T has CDMA and they don't. Verizon and Sprint both carry CDMA networks, which are not capable of chat & surf off of WiFi. Apple has to manufacture separate processors for their networks. AT&T carries a GSM, which is also what T-Mobile was when it was purchased by AT&T, though T-Mobile had a more reliable network and more competitive prices.
I did do further research and a lot of rumors suggest that the price of the iPhone 5 will be similar to the iPhone 4 and 3GS, which is $199 for a 16 GB (with contract) and $299 for a 32 GB (with contract). Release date is suggested as October, but there's also rumors that that was Apple's ploy at attempting to relieve customer expectations in the event that there is actually a delay in the September release date.0 -
I am so excited. I want an Iphone so badly but dont want to leave sprint AND I am due for an upgrade!! WOOHOO!!!!!0
