    Hi and welcome.

You didn't say what kind of tips or what your goals are.

This tip kind of applies to anything though... be kind to yourself, make small changes over time instead of huge radical changes, and don't worry about perfection just try for good enough.

My tip would be to read the stickies at the top of each message board (they say Closed). I didn't realize what these were for, and when I finally figured it out, I discovered they contain a wealth of valuable, helpful information.

Don't be afraid to try different methods to find what works for you and use mistakes as a learning process rather than failure. Patience is key.

    Welcome to MFP.

Some suggestions that I think are helpful would be, start slow and look and identify what triggers your eating (this would the eating when not hungry). If there are foods that you can't control eliminate and try substitutes for those foods. For me it was rice and pasta and most desserts, I would eat items that would have been over rice on spinach or other leafy greens and I discovered Zoodles :) . As far as sweets I made myself earn them or planned them so for me that was a big change to my eating habits. If possible PRE-LOG, seeing those, automatic appetite suppressant or at least the option to make a better choice.

As hard as it is when I was going through it, when I look back I think 'what a crybaby I was' ;)
