    It doesn't matter how fast you go, just that you keep going and get there! I love it, too, and cant wait to get out there again!

    I've just really started getting into hiking. Haven't done any huge treks yet. But last weekend did this hike that was about 6-7 miles with a 1500 foot elevation gain and lots of steep inclines/declines with few switchbacks available. I hope to keep hiking more (there are a lot of hiking trails available in my country, and pretty much the entire country is within a 6 hour drive), and eventually one day would like to hike Patagonia.

    After 25 years, I moved from just outside Yosemite National Park to the desert north of Las Vegas. I miss having so many amazing trails at my doorstep, but the desert has its own kind of beauty. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

    I would love to hike the AT. I am envious of those who can take off 5 or 6 months to do that.

    Ohhh yea I never get that much time!! Only done sections, usually 4-5 days at a time

    @StephanieLynneK we are near each other. I am just getting started with hiking in the foothills of the Adirondacks. We did Elephant Head (just out of Malone) last week. I think we're going to do Owl's Head this weekend.

    Living in Wisconsin not a lot of areas to hike so generally it is Devils Lake State Park.
