Looking for people to join me for accountability, support, friendship, etc. I'm only receiving requests from men, several of which just immediately slide into my messages. I'm married. I'm not interested!
So any WOMEN who are looking to add support and friends, please feel free to add me! CW: 157.9, GW: 130. 30 yrs old.

Super annoying!
I am a member of a lovely group in the MFP community. It's the Fat2Fit Weight Loss Challenge Group, and it's a great way to have wonderful support and a structure for staying accountable. We have weekly weigh-ins (tallied to see which team did the best each week), daily check-ins with your team (how are you doing on your plan for food, water, exercise), and lots of wonderful and supportive conversation.
It's not ALL women, but everyone I have dealt with has been friendly, supportive and appropriate!

You know if a man posted Male friends only they would be called sexist. Behind a computer gender doesn't matter you are unlikely to meet anyone in person.
No need to be sexist7 -

I didnt set out this journey with the intention of restricting friendship and support to women only. And certainly not all men are an issue. But the few who immediately began making inappropriate remarks to me in my inbox were sufficient for me to decide to be female only moving forward. And in my experience, it's not uncommon for people to look for support from the same sex on mfp. I'm happy if you have never received unwanted remarks. I have. So I made a decision on what will make me most comfortable and most likely to continue using this app to lose weight. But I wish you luck in your journey, whatever shape that takes.10 -

Behind a computer many men and I'm sure some women become rather bold or lose all sense of propriety. I don't blame the OP For limiting her request. I have really good friends of both genders here but I've certainly had some doozies too. It's all across the internet too. I used to post screen shots of the really special messages I'd get on Words with Friends. Some of those were amazing3 -

It wouldn't bother me if a man chooses to have all male friends. I think people should be allowed to have whatever gender of friends that makes this site more comfortable for them.
Many people request certain types of friends on this site...keto friends, IF friends, lchf, whole30, college age, older, middle age, mommie friends...etc...etc. Are they being discriminatory?6 -

Boom!! Well put! I go through the same thing! There are a lot of genuine male supporters on here, I have a few on my friends list, but then there are those douche bags, that confuse this app with Tinder, KiK, farmersonly.com 😂 just to mention a few.. and I'm speaking from experience for those who want to rip my post/reply apart. I call those dudes out as soon as I receive a message from them, I'm not scared, if more women would put them on blast, when they receive this unwanted attention, (because there are women on here, that want that attention and are seeking validation on here, I've seen it from both sides on this app) then by blasting them, it will bring attention. I'm not prude or jealous or envious, I'm a married woman who want's to be respected as one, and I don't flirt with any dude on here! And there are dudes who do respect that, just have to do your homework when you receive friend requests is all, easy peasy! I'm sure someone will have to add their 2 cents here, but IDGAF 😁.. I speak truth!
I'm adding you!3 -
Add me if you like! Sometimes I get the same thing. This is a weight loss site, not a dating app!!!0
