What’s the best way to log cups of green tea?

Hi everyone.
I have just started off with this app, and hope to achieve my weight loss and health goals.
I used to drink about 10 cups of coffee a day, and now I have cut The umbilical cord from the beloved caffeine and replaced it with green tea. During weekdays at work I fill up a cup every 20 minutes or so.
So I drink this instead of tap/bottled water.
Being new to this app, I am not sure where is the best place to log my cups of green tea. Should I just log it as water, or log it in the food section under snacks?
May be a dumb question. Sorry. And sorry if this had been answered before.

i usually log it like i do my coffee. Only log what i put in it. like honey or whatever, the coffee or tea itself is less than 5. but some people like to have all the data. its up to you really.1

We're in the same boat - I LOVE tea!
I guess it depends how religious you intend to be with your logging (and whether you add anything to it)
If there's any sugar/milk/honey involved, log that under snacks for sure!
I personally only add tea to my water count, because at less than 5 cals per cup it has negligible impact on my planning/goals. Some people are more neurotic about accuracy, but tbh I don't think it matters.1 -
Doesn't green tea still have plenty of caffeine?4

Doesn't green tea still have plenty of caffeine?
Yes, but only about 1/3 of what is in coffee. And less than black tea too. I think it's around 40mg? So 10 cups a day is 400mg, more than the recommended limit but not really excessive imo.
Edited to clarify: For some people who are sensitive to caffeine (like me), 400 is rather a lot which is why I drink almost exclusively herbal and decaf. But lots of people drink that amount of caffeine in coffee (it only takes 3 cups) without adverse effects that I know of0 -

Oh yes, it's certainly less than coffee. I was just thinking of OP's comment that he "cut the umbilical cord" from caffeine, which to my mind implied a complete disconnect.
But whatever's cool with me.2 -

This is not true. Green tea can have as much caffeine as black tea, and sometimes more. It depends on the particular tea you’re drinking, as well as various other factors. https://theteacurator.co.nz/blogs/news/which-has-more-caffeine-green-tea-black-tea-or-coffee2 -
My bad, I was going by the teas I have in my cabinet at the moment. Makes sense that it would vary by brand.1

Unless you're drinking it with something with calories or have a desire to track your liquids, I see no use in tracking it. That said, if you're drinking a cup of green tea 3 times an hour over the course of 8 hours you're probably consuming more caffeine than you did drinking 10 cups of coffee a day.2

Thanks everyone for the insights.
I had no idea that green tea may have so much caffeine. In that case, mine must not have too much as about 20 cups a day and I sleep like a baby at night.... even with the full bladder haha.1 -

Can I ask why you're exclusively drinking green tea? And so much of it?4 -
I don't log tea or coffee, but then I have maybe 2 or 3 cups a day. Drinking green tea has other health benefits too but be careful you don't overdo it. It's good you have cut back the caffeine, it can wreak havoc on your health over time.
I'd suggest scaling back the green tea too as your amounts are a little excessive, 400mg of caffeine a day or more is not safe over time.

For people having trouble meeting their beverage goal, it might be useful for them to log tea (or whatever) as a beverage. That's not the case for you, though, obviously
Look on your boxes of tea and see how many calories it has and determine if it makes sense to log it. My green tea has no calories. I do log my black tea, but just to give context to the (small amount of) sugar I put in it.
You may wish to learn how much caffeine your green tea has. Generally, it is much less than coffee, but as noted above, this varies by brand.0 -

Such as?1 -
If you are drinking 20 cups you need to log it because that could be ~100 calories per day.1

I'm sure I'm not the only one who got to goal weight and is keeping it off and has never drunk green tea.
It's not compulsory.
Drink coffee if you like coffee.
You don't have to punish yourself.
If you like it, that's fine, but it doesn't have any magical fat-burning properties. Cheers.
