Dr Neal Barnard's Low Fat Vegan Diet to reverse diabetes

Dr. Barnard is not vegan. If you have ever listened to his lectures you will find that he eats no animal products when he is in control of his diet. For example, when he is eating at home. However, if he goes to a restaurant he will choose foods prepared without animal products as much as possible but if, for example, the beans are refried in lard and the rice is cooked in a chicken broth, he still eats it. A vegan would not
He is promoting healthy choices which help heal the body through proper nourishment because the science, population studies and control group studies all show that it works. Simple as that. And not just for diabetes5 -
I have issue with the "only" part of nvmomketo's posts. I personally have two family members who are no longer considered T2 diabetic and both of them reversed the diagnosis with less food and adding exercise. No surgery, LCHF, VLCD or any other smoke and mirrors.
I'm not sure why a medical protocol would be "only" those methods, unless it is part of a marketing plan.11 -

Agreed. I know people for whom this is true offline, and there are also examples on MFP.3
