I made lettuce wraps last night for supper. They were amazing! The crunch was the best part! You can add anything you want into them. The trick I discovered is to cut the bottom off and let the water flow into it and it will seperate with easy!

My wraps:
Lettuce for outside
chopped lettuce for inside
chicken
red pepper
red onion
mustard
light mayo
pepper

Tonite I'm going to create a new one!
I did learn not to make the the night before and expect to eat them for lunch the next day. It was mush! So I cut it up and ate it like a salad. But it was mushy!
Enjoy!
You can also make tacos with them!

Great idea, I'll have to try it soon. :)
  • I now use lettuce as a substitue for taco shells & bread! Stuff them with chicken, ground turkey, beef... The romaine is best!
  • Skinnytaste has some great BLT lettuce wraps:

4 strips center cut pork bacon/turkey bacon
    1tbsp fat free mayo
    1 small tomato
    1/2 cup lettuce
    2 large iceburg lettuce leafs

cook bacon, chop ingredients and wrap up in lettuce leafs. OMG amazing if you like BLTs, I've been hooked lately. Comes out to 161 calories for both, if I'm running out of bacon I just use less and it comes out to like 120 instead.

I am bumping, reminds me there was a south beach recipe that tasted just like PF Chang's lettuce wraps, there were a lot ingrediants of things most of us don't keep in the pantry, though. It was made with ground chicken, and had water chestnuts and bamboo shoots...will try to find it...

Try this one. This is one of my favorite recipes.

    1-lb ground Turkey
2-inches of fresh ginger, peeled, grated
    3 Cloves of Garlic, pressed
    1/2 C. Water Chestnuts chopped
    4 Carrots, shredded
    1/2 - 3/4 C. Chicken broth
    Head of romaine leaves

    1. Heat large pot to medium high to brown turkey.
    2. Add in garlic and ginger when meat is almost cooked through.
    3. Reduce heat to medium when meat is fully cooked.
    4. Stir in chestnuts, carrots and broth.

Spoon onto lettuce and eat like a taco.

    Here’s my favorite
    Buffalo chicken
Cook chicken breast in crockpot with Franks buffalo wing sauce. Shred chicken. Put back in crockpot with sauce mix together.
I put it on Romaine lettuce leaves, with a few blue cheese crumbles.

So that they are not mushy, just store the lettuce leafs in a baggie and the filling in another small container. Then all you have to do the next is make your lettuce sandwich right before you eat. Super easy and crisy. :)

I make Mississippi Mud chicken in the instant pot for lettuce wraps at lunch. I reheat the chicken and wrap it in a couple pieces of green leaf then top with chopped tomato, scallion, and a touch of Tessamae's ranch. Love it!
