Not getting credit for all my steps?

In my diary, my homepage says I did 7659 steps today but in the diary page it says I did 7110 steps and credits me with 155 calories. Why are these numbers different, and why are the steps on the diary page always lower? I’m using Pacer pedometer in my phone to measure the steps and it writes to MFP.

Sometimes things get glitchy and don’t sync as often as they’re supposed to, when two apps are communicating. That might account for why not all the steps show up. This usually works itself out.

The number of calories credited is an adjustment. It’s MFP realizing you were more active that you state you are (by the activity level you set), and crediting you the difference in calories. If you set your activity level as sedentary, this number will be larger (but you start with a lower calorie goal), but if you set it to active, you’ll start with a higher goal and get fewer in your adjustment.
