Is there a way to input that you are Vegan so it does not try to notify me about lack of meat consumption?

??? Are you sure that is a thing? The app doesn't know what type of food a specific entry is, so how would it warn you about not enough meat consumption? Are you sure it's not notifying you about not enough calories?

Do you have a screenshot or something of that notification? I've never seen that and I don't think the MFP software is even smart enough to distinguish if what you're eating is meat or not.

This. I'm an ovo-lacto vegetarian. Never got a notification like the one OP is describing. Nor one that tells me I didn't hit protein, etc. But let my calories dip too low and I'll get a warning.

I agree with the others that I have never seen anything on this site that would give a notification like that. Could you be talking about the food diary protein column where it shows your daily totals for calories and macros? If so, you still need to get adequate protein regardless of your diet. There are a number of vegan foods containing protein.

I've been logging vegan meals here since 2015 and I've never gotten a warning about not having meat (or eggs or dairy). Agree with others -- can you share exactly what you're seeing?

Perhaps you've confused meat with protein? Vegans need adequate protein levels just the same as meat eaters (a bit more perhaps due to both bioavailability), but I've never had mfp have any idea about meat, or recommending me to eat any.

MFP does not notify you about not eating meat. I've been logging food since January 2015 and stopped eating meat long before that. The only thing MFP notifies you about is closing your diary while under the minimum number of calories per day (1200 for women).
